Dr Raimundo was born and raised in Portugal, a beautiful country by the sea. His family medical background and passion for animals took him to pursue and complete his veterinary degree at the University of Tras-os-Montes. Following graduation, to further specialise his skills, he completed several courses in small animal surgery, orthopaedics, neurology and arthroscopy in different European countries, such as Spain, the UK, Germany and Switzerland. After working in small-animal hospitals and clinics in Portugal and the UK, he completed a one-year advanced internship at Davies Veterinary Specialists in England. In 2010, Dr Raimundo moved to Dubai where he works and lives with his wife Daisy, their children Otto and Mia and their 3 rescued cats Jonhson, Daphne and Marge. It was here that his love and special interest in cats grew. With the high percentage of cats in the daily work, he quickly fell in love with the feline practice and decided to pursue further studies in order to master as much knowledge about our little friends. He recently completed a 2 year Distance Education Course in Feline Medicine run by the Centre of Veterinary Education at The University of Sydney, this works in conjunction with the International Society of Feline Medicine of which he is a member. In order to continue his training and provide the best quality medical care to the feline species he is now studying to obtain in 2020, the membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Medicine of Cats, an ISFMs recognised post-graduate certificate in feline medicine. From his feline experience, he quickly became aware that cats, in a special environment (specific building and team) can be better understood, and quickly improve their condition. With that in mind, he decided to implement a unique centre of excellence for feline veterinary care and client service to the Dubai community and has created The Cat Vet Clinic aiming for Gold Standards by the ISFM.
