Our Services
Diagnostic Service
Our Imaging Services Include
- Digital Radiography: Our in-house digital radiography equipment provides high-resolution X-ray images that help in diagnosing a wide range of conditions, from fractures and arthritis to tumors and internal injuries. Digital radiography allows for quick image processing and detailed analysis, ensuring timely and accurate assessments.
- Ultrasonography: We offer comprehensive ultrasonography services performed by our ultrasound specialist. This non-invasive imaging technique uses sound waves to create detailed images of your cat’s internal organs. It’s particularly useful for examining the abdominal organs, including the liver, kidneys, and bladder, as well as for detecting abnormalities in soft tissues and blood flow.
- Abdominal Imaging: Our advanced abdominal imaging services help in diagnosing gastrointestinal issues, organ abnormalities, and other internal problems. By using ultrasound and radiography, we can detect conditions such as blockages, tumors, and inflammatory diseases with high accuracy.
- Thoracic Imaging: Thoracic imaging focuses on the chest area, allowing us to evaluate the heart, lungs, and surrounding structures. This is crucial for diagnosing respiratory issues, heart diseases, and other thoracic conditions. Our advanced equipment ensures clear and detailed images for precise diagnosis.
- Cardiology Imaging: Specialised imaging for cardiology includes echocardiograms (heart scans) and other diagnostic tools to assess heart health and function. Our cardiology imaging services help in detecting congenital heart defects, heart disease, and other cardiac conditions, enabling us to create tailored treatment plans for your cat.
- CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography): This is a cutting-edge imaging technology designed to deliver detailed 3D images of a cat’s anatomy. This advanced tool is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning in feline medicine, offering high-resolution imaging with lower radiation exposure and faster scan times, reducing stress for both pets and owners.
- Fluoroscopy: A dynamic imaging technique that provides real-time X-ray visualisation, making it an invaluable tool for feline surgical procedures. This advanced technology enables veterinarians to observe internal structures and guide interventions with exceptional precision.
SUB Flushing
What maintenance does a SUB require?
A SUB is a long-term device that requires ongoing care to keep it functioning properly.
Maintenance includes:
- Regular SUB flushes (usually every 1–3 months, depending on the case)
- Periodic ultrasound examinations to assess flow and position
- Monitoring kidney values and urine parameters
- Watching for signs of infection or blockage
SUB flushes are typically done under light sedation to minimise stress and ensure safety. During this procedure, the port is accessed using sterile technique, the system is assessed, urine samples are collected and sterile saline is used to flush the tubing.
At The Cat Vet Specialist Centre, we offer specialised SUB flush services for feline patients with subcutaneous ureteral bypass systems. This advanced service is designed to support cats with ureteral obstructions by maintaining device patency and reducing the risk of complications through routine assessment and flushing under controlled clinical conditions.
Our feline-only environment, imaging capabilities, and experienced veterinary team ensure that each SUB flush is performed with the highest level of care and precision, minimising stress for both patient and owner.
We welcome referrals from surrounding veterinary clinics and are happy to collaborate closely on case management and post-procedure follow-up.
