Surgical Procedures

Our gold standard accredited operating theatre with state of the art anaesthetic monitoring equipment allows us to provide exemplary care. We perform routine and elective procedures every weekday. This ranges from spay, castration and minor surgeries to eye surgery, orthopedic surgery, or soft tissue surgery. Pre-anaesthetic screening in the form of a blood test may be recommended before any procedure.

We fully understand that you will be worried when your cat is undergoing surgery, but please rest assured that your feline friend will be in excellent hands with our vets, and we will make every effort to maintain communication with you throughout the day. For more information regarding a specific type of surgery or any inquiry, please feel free to contact a member of The Cat Vet team.

Elective surgical procedures are pre-planned and are not performed as an emergency. Spaying/neutering, orthopaedic surgeries, and skin growth removals are some of the common elective procedures that are typically “non-urgent” and address medical issues that do not pose an immediate threat to a cat's life or health.
Emergency surgical procedures address life-threatening or urgent medical conditions that cannot wait for scheduling. These surgeries are critical to prevent severe complications or irreversible damage. Emergency surgeries are typically unplanned and arise from sudden injuries, acute illnesses, or severe episodes of internal bleeding, organ perforation, and trauma. Emergency surgeries involve rapid assessment, decision-making, and multidisciplinary intervention and stabilisation approaches. Some of the most common surgical emergencies include foreign body removals (causing a blockage within the gastrointestinal system), pyometra (an infected uterus), and urethral obstruction (a blocked bladder).

Spay (female) - 1051.50AED and inclusive of pre anaesthesia examination
and blood analysis, gold standard general anaesthesia and monitoring of
the surgical procedure, fluid therapy, pain relief, antibiotic
injections and post operative pain management at home.

We do not
generally recommend or discharge cats with buster collars unless necessary or requested as we find this can cause more stress, which we
try to keep to a minimum in all our feline patients.

Castration (male) - 975 AED inclusive of pre anaesthesia examination and blood  analysis, gold standard general anaesthesia and monitoring of the surgical procedure, fluid therapy, pain relief, antibiotic injection.
