Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is a revolutionary imaging methodology that enables 3D visualization of internal organs, nerve pathways, bones, and soft tissues. Earlier called Computed Axial Tomography (CAT scanners), the advanced systems are non-invasive and high-precision, making them more suitable for a pet CT scan. The device makes it easier for us to diagnose ENT issues, polyps, tumours, inflammations, and any other underlying diseases or injuries more closely – helping us plan the most effective treatments. Preparing Your Pet for a CT scan: The first step in any procedure at The Cat Vet is getting to know the patient and tailoring the next steps according to their needs. We aim to become friends first.
Anaesthesia: Usually, a safe dose of mild sedation is given while performing a CT scan for pets, just to relax them. General anaesthesia is used as a last resort, depending on the severity of the condition and if your cat is extremely anxious.
The Scanning: We have specially designed veterinarian CBCT systems to carry out CT scans for cats. The system already has built-in lasers to position your cat correctly on the table to get the angles right. The Sontu Veterinary Cone-beam CT is capable of rapid 3D imaging through a single rotation with minimal radiation exposure.
Reporting: Our specially trained cat radiologists in Dubai analyse the scanned images and create detailed reports that are 100% accurate. We follow an integrative approach and conduct a comprehensive assessment, so no matter how good your cat is at hiding it, we will find out exactly what’s going on in their body and tell you how we can fix it.
